:: About ASPnet ::

Launched in 1953 as an international programme of UNESCO, the ASPnet today links students and teachers from over 5000 schools and educational institutions with the aim of fostering international peace and understanding.

Members are encouraged to work independently or in collaboration with others to develop pilot projects highlighting at least one of the four main themes listed below:

World concerns and the United Nations system
Human rights and democracy
Intercultural learning
Environmental issues.


The ASP network in the Pacific has expanded rapidly in recent years and there are now ASP networks in 15 Pacific countries. Each country has an ASP co-ordinator.
